Say NO to throat cut prices
If you are thinking of going to Restoran Kolam Ikan, Sg Kob, Kulim, I seriously urge you to think thrice. An average, simple three-course lunch for three pax for RM 97 under a hut (ecogreen ambience, if you want to call it) is simply exorbitant or 'potong leher'.
Like so many other food operators (e.g. including but not limiting to Lorong Selamat Char Kuey Teow), these ppl are taking advantage of Malaysians and tourists' penchant for food (esp those that have been featured on TV/medias) by charging potong leher (literally translated as cut throat) prices for, at most, average quality and taste food.
Well in a society like ours, the choice is YOURS. Perhaps the Lorong Selamat Char Kuey Teow seller, after her winning streak on board a cruise, likes your face better and speaks more politely with you.
Or perhaps, the Restoran Kolam Ikan lady, after having had sufficient blood cutting her patrons' throat all day, will spare you and save her sword for another day.
All the best, jalan-jalan cari makan guys and gals. Vote with your wallet and tell these opportunist food operators to STOP treating us, food-loving folks like id*#ts.
